GIRLS INCORPORATED SUMMER HOURS: Regular hours are 8:00am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday, from May 31st through July 29th. Early morning hours are available.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Registration for summer camp will begin May 2nd from 9:00am-5:00pm. Any girl who will be entering kindergarten in the fall is eligible to be a Girls Incorporated member this summer. An adult or guardian must sign girls up for summer camp and special trips. Membership fee is $25.00 and our summer activities fee is $10.00 per day or $130.00 (a savings of $300 which is $3.02 per day) for the entire summer if paid in full before May 27th (if paid after May 27th the fee is $155.00). The activity fee includes daily activities at the center and any offsite transportation. Dues assistance is available for those who qualify. EARLY MORNING HOURS: We offer early morning hours. In the past we opened at 6:30am. Please let staff know during registration what hours you will need. Girls who will arrive before 8:00am must pay $5.00 per day or $175.00 (a savings of $40.00) for the entire summer camp. Breakfast will be provided.
OFFSITE EXCURSIONS:
FIREFLIES (entering K & 1st grade) ~ June 24th and July 22nd
LADYBUGS (entering grades 2 & 3) ~ June 17th and July 15th
BUTTERFLIES (entering grades 4, 5, & 6) ~ June 10th and July 8th
GIT’S (grade 7 and up) ~ June 1st and July 1st
Girls must be signed up to go on these trips. Because seating is limited we urge parents to sign their daughters up for these trips during registration in May. Detailed info on each trip is available at Girls Inc. PARENTS: We will need for you to pay for Offsite Excursions no later than 2 weeks before each trip. If payment is not received by the deadline girls’ names will be removed from the list and replaced with girls on the waiting list. No phone call reminders will be made. There will be no refund for Offsite Excursions if you do not let us know 1 week in advance that your daughter will not be going. Parents interested in going as chaperones should contact Girls Inc. at registration. There is no cost for chaperones except for their own lunch. We encourage girls to wear a Girls Inc. t-shirt on Offsite Excursions. T-shirts can be purchased for $7.00.
SWIM LESSONS: will be held at the Seymour City Pool in Shields Park. There is a $25.00 fee for the 6-week session. The American Red Cross certified lessons will be from 9:30-10:30am on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning June 14th and ending July 21st. Girls Incorporated will provide transportation from Girls Inc. to the pool and back.
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES that need to be signed up for during registration include Offsite Excursions and Swim Lessons. Other weekly events that need to be signed up for include group swim and free movie. Girls need to sign up for these activities by noon on the day of the event.
Girls should not bring valuables with them to Girls Inc. (this includes cell phones!) We have no place to safely store them. Girls are encouraged to keep their money at the control desk or concession stand for safekeeping.
PARKING: Please park in the marked spaces provided in the parking lot. Parents must come into the building to pick up your daughter. ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING OR WAITING ON THE CIRCULAR DRIVE! A big THANK YOU to parents that respect this safety rule!
FREE MEMBERSHIP FOR GIRLS ENTERING 7TH GRADE AND UP!!! This summer Girls Inc. is continuing our G.I.T. (Girls Inc. Teens) program. Those girls who will be entering 7th grade and up will assist younger members with activities throughout the day. G.I.T.’s might help a younger member get her sunscreen on before swimming, help her with a craft, help serve lunch, etc. Any girls interested in becoming a G.I.T. will need to attend a training on Monday, May 23rd from 4:00-5:00pm.
LUNCH: Girls may purchase lunch for $3.00 per day or bring their own ready to eat sack lunch (no cooking options and no refrigeration available). For a savings of $54.00 a lunch pass can be purchased for $75.00, which includes lunch daily Monday through Friday. Milk, chocolate milk and water is served every day with lunch, as well as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Pop and milk available for purchase if a girl brings a sack lunch. The lunch menu will be posted at registration.
MOTHER-DAUGHTER POOL PARTY: will be held Thursday, July 14th at the Brownstown City Pool from 7:30-9:00pm. Tickets ($10.00 each) will be on sale beginning June 13th. Admission will include swimming, refreshments (pizza, cookies, and drinks) souvenir photo, and door prizes. If a mother is unable to attend, the girls may bring an aunt, grandmother or a family friend as their guest. Girls do not need to be a member to attend but must be going in to Kindergarten.
SWIMMING – Each week groups will have an opportunity to attend Seymour City Pool from 1:00-3:30. Girls Kindergarten and 1st grade will be able to attend on Mondays, girls in 2nd and 3rd grades will attend on Tuesdays, girls in 4th, 5th, & 6th grades will attend on Mondays, and 7th grade and older will attend on Tuesdays. Girls wanting to go swimming need to bring $1.00 and sign up before noon. Girls need to bring swimsuit, sunscreen and towel.
FREE MOVIE – Girls wanting to attend the free movie at Great Escapes should sign up when they arrive at Girls Inc. that day. The bus will depart at 9:00am and space will be very limited. Girls who do not participate in swim lessons can attend the movie on Tuesdays, those girls that are in swim lessons can attend on Wednesdays. Girls will not be permitted to buy concessions at the movie.
BOOKMOBILE – will be coming to Girls Inc. on June 7, 21, July 5, 19 from 1:15 to 1:45. Story time will be offered on the Bookmobile or girls who have their library cards can check out materials.
